Winner Takes Top Spot

Littlewoods Ireland Division 1 National League
Saturday 29th May
St Brendan’s Park, Birr at 2.30pm
Kilkenny will travel to St Brendan’s Park in Birr to take on Offaly in round 3 of the National League. With the winner taking top spot in the group and going into the draw for the Semi Final there isn’t much to play for as both teams will qualify for a quarter final spot at least.
Kilkenny had a less than convincing win over Dublin in the first round albeit it was the first time the team had had a competitive game since last years All Ireland Final. Offaly on the other hand had an impressive win in round two against Dublin coming from seven points behind to leave the royal blue side in a relegation battle. Former Galway All Ireland winner Susan Earner has brought Offaly on leaps and bounds since their trip to Graignamanagh in last years league game before the lockdown. It will give both managers a chance to maybe try some new players before going into the knockout stages.
Games between these two have been less than dull tho, having played each other in three Leinster Final battles in a row 2017-2019 with the kittens coming out on top by only a single point will give those looking into via streaming and radio the chance to watch a great game of Camogie. Both teams will have much to prove to their respective management teams as the Championship will start immediately after the league this year, players will look to seal a starting spot on the team. Susan Earner will also look to see where her Offaly Team are taking on the All Ireland champions. We’re all looking forward to this game.
