In the Littlewoods Ireland Camogie League Division 2 Second Round match held in Netwatch Training Centre, Fenagh, Carlow, Kilkenny made it two wins from two when they overcame Carlow in terrible weather conditions on Sunday last.

It was the victors who opened the scoring with a point through Mia Griffin from twenty one meters in the second minute. Carlow responded brilliantly and got in for the games only goal in the fourth minute when Rachel Sawyer gained possession twenty one meters from goal to dispatch the sliotar past Aoife Norris. Kilkenny hit back brilliantly and got five points on the trot. Orla Hanrick started the run with four points on the trot from placed balls. The first from twenty one meters in the sixth minute, she followed this up with a free from thirty meters a minute later and a further free from the same distance in the eleventh minute. She finished the run with a free from thirty meters in the

twelfth minute. Mia Griffin then chipped in with her second point of the contest in the fifteenth minute from twenty one meters. Eleanor Treacy stopped the rout for the hosts with a free from twenty one meters in the eighteen minute to cut the deficit to two points, leaving the score 0-6 to 1-01, but it was Kilkenny who closed out the half with two points on the trot. Orla Hanrick scored a free in the twenty third minute before Christine Lyng closed out the first half scoring with a well taken point from twenty one meters in the twenty fifth minute to see Kilkenny lead at the interval 0-8 to 1-01.

In a low scoring second half where both sides cancelled each other out, it was Kilkenny who continued their good run and drew first blood with a free through Orla Hanrick in the thirty first minute.
