All Ireland U16A Camogie Championship Final
Kilkenny vs Galway
Venue: Radley Park, Leixlip 1.00pm Referee: John Dolan (Clare)
The Kilkenny under 16 team will hope to secure their first under 16 All Ireland title since 2007 when they take on Galway on Sunday afternoon.
Kilkenny secured Sunday’s showdown by fighting off a late Cork comeback on a 2-17 to 3-11 score line on Sunday last in Nenagh, while Galway proved too strong for Dublin in the days other semi-final 2-17 to 2-09.
Kilkenny began the campaign with a 2-14 to 1-10 victory over Waterford. They followed this up with victories over Limerick (4-18 to 0-07), Dublin (0-10 to 0-03), and Clare (3-26 to 1-04) and followed this up with a semi-final victory over Cork on Sunday last 2-17 to 3-11.
Galway also have being in impressive form this year and began their All-Ireland campaign with a 6-12 to 3-13 victory over Wexford. They followed this up with victories over Tipperary (7-14 to 1-07), Offaly (7-16 to 0-07) and Cork (4-08 to 1-14). They then defeated Dublin in the semi-final on Sunday last 2-17 to 2-09.
Both sides are heading into this contest with impressive scoring records and both set of defences will be kept on their toes. I feel this game will be a cracking encounter and game not to be missed. I just feel Kilkenny may shade but I expect a real tough encounter and noting more than a score in it at the end.
