All Ireland under 16 Championship Report- Clare edge out brave Cats

The Kilkenny under 16 camogie team were unlucky to just come up short to Clare in there All Ireland Championship clash in Scariff on Sunday on a 0-08 point to 0-05 score line.

It was the victors who began the game brightly and raced into a 0-02 point to no score lead in the opening five minutes. Kilkenny bounced back and opened there account with a Danielle Morrissey point in the sixteenth minute. Clare then pointed thirty seconds later before Eadoin Murphy tapped over a free to cut the deficit to a point again in the twentieth minute. Caoimhe Dowling equalized the tie with a free in the twenty second minute. Clare closed out the half with two unanswered points before half time to see them go in at the break 0-05 points to 0-03 ahead.

Kilkenny began the second half brightly and got the opening two points to equalize the tie through Danielle Morrissey. She started the run with a free in the fortieth minute before following this up with a point from play in the forty fifth minute. Clare finished the stronger and got the last three scores of the game to clench the win. Kilkenny must now regroup and focus their attention to Cork next weekend where a victory might be enough to secure a semi final spot.
