Liberty Insurance Senior Camogie Championship Group 2

Kilkenny vs Dublin (Saturday)

Venue: (Parnell Park, 2.30pm) Referee: Alan Lagrue (Kildare)

The Kilkenny senior team will begin their bid to get back to Croke Park on the second Sunday in September when they travel to take on Dublin in Parnell Park on Saturday. Kilkenny will be hoping to continue the good vein of form that there in that ensured they regained the Leinster Senior Championship title over Offaly two weeks ago. The last time the sides met was in the Group stages of the League where the Cats proved too strong on a 1-12 to 1-05 score line.  Dublin began the league under the new management of Shane O Brien and recorded victories over Derry and Clare. They wilted a bit in the remaining games where they came up short against Cork and Kilkenny and fell to Offaly in the Leinster Championship. Kilkenny bounced back from their opening round league loss to Cork with wins over Derry, Dublin and Clare to reach the league semi finals where they came up short against a goal hungry Galway side. They overcame this set back and raced through Leinster with victories over Kildare in the semi final and Offaly in the final. This will be a tricky contest for the Cats as Dublin will be hoping to get back the form that they had in the opening rounds of the league. On paper and on current form you expect Kilkenny to prove to strong for the Metropolitans, but the Dubs will provide a stern test for the Leinster champions.
