Kilkenny vs Wexford (Sunday) 

Venue: (Kennedy Park, New Ross, 6.00pm) Referee: TBC

The highly anticipated replay between Kilkenny and Wexford has being brought forward and will now take place in Kennedy Park, New Ross on Sunday at 6pm. It took a 63^rd minute point from Emma Comerford to secure the replay after being trailing by four points with five minutes to go. Wexford showed in the first game they are a serious team and have talented players among their ranks with Sarah O’Connor, Ellen Roche and Clodagh Fitzhenry all in terrific form on Saturday last. Kilkenny will be heartened that even though they didn’t play well they showed the character and determination to get something from the contest with Sarah Ann Quinlan taking the game by the scruff of the neck scoring 1-01 to draw Kilkenny level. They suffered another setback after this with Sarah O’Connor tapping over a free deep into injury time, but Emma Comerford stood up with the last puck of the game to force the draw.  This game has all the hallmarks of being a cracker with Kilkenny going out to prove that last weekend was a blip on the radar and Wexford determined not to let the game slip from their grasp like they did in Thomastown eight days previous. It is a game that I feel will go down to the wire but I feel Kilkenny have that bit more to prove and should shade it, but don’t expect it to be more than a couple of points in it at the end.
