Minor A All Ireland Championship – Sighle Nic an Ultaigh

Round 3

Kilkenny vs Tipperary (Sunday 2.30pm)

Venue: (The Ragg)   Referee: Cathal Egan

The Kilkenny minor camogie team will hope to make it three wins from three when they take on Tipperary on Sunday. Kilkenny backed up there opening round with over Clare with a conniving win over Wexford 1-13 to 1-07. Tipperary top the group 2 table over Kilkenny, but have played an extra game. They are in a good vein of form after recording wins over Wexford, Clare and Cork.  This is a vital game for both sides, but especially for Tipperary as it is there last group game and win for Kilkenny would see Kilkenny go level on points with the Premier County but will see them top the group on score difference with a game to play. In the corresponding fixture last season Kilkenny edged out Tipperary by three points and a close an encounter is to be expected on Sunday, but I feel Kilkenny will shade it.

Leinster u16 Championship Division A 3rd Round

Kilkenny vs Offaly (Sunday 2pm)

Venue: (Clara)    Referee: TBC

The Kilkenny under 16 team will hope to back up last weekend’s victory over Wexford when they take on Offaly on Sunday. Kilkenny were unlucky in their opening encounter where a second half comeback from Dublin saw the Metropolitan edge out Kilkenny. Kilkenny bounced back and recorded an emphatic victory over Wexford last weekend. Offaly on the other hand have yet to record a victory having suffered losses to Wexford and Dublin. In the corresponding fixture last season Kilkenny had ten points to spare over the Faithful. Offaly will be determined not to suffer three losses on the trot, but on current form you can’t see anything but a Kilkenny win.

Leinster u16 Championship Division B 3rd Round

Kilkenny vs Dublin (Sunday 1pm)

Venue: Dublin City University    Referee: TBC

The Kilkenny under 16 b side will travel to Dublin on Sunday hoping to back up wins over Wicklow and Meath and book a semi final spot. Dublin similar to Kilkenny are unbeaten after recording wins over Meath and Wicklow. This clash on Sunday is a dead rubber contest as both side are certain of a semi final berth and will determine who will top the group. This has all the hallmarks of a game that could go down to the wire and is a difficult one to call.  I feel Kilkenny has more of a scoring threat and this could shade the contest on Sunday
